Hi!

I know allot of the websites I’ve posted over the past few month have been primarily math related as this is part of our school improvement plan.  But I’ve come across a site that includes literacy, science and social studies activities for you to try out.

Let me know what you think about it and whether ts helpful.

Parents: Have a great holiday I have enjoyed working with each one of you this year.  Be safe and I will see you in January!

Math problem solving

Hi,
I came across this website for helping with problem solving. What I like about it is how it takes everyday things your child is interested in and applies math to them. Personally, I liked the problem on how much does snow weigh in Hersey’s kisses! Each day a different problem is given that you can discuss at home to help build math skills in everyday life!

Enjoy, I look forward to hearing about the Hersey’s Kisses in math class!

December at a Glance

Well its hard to believe its now December and Winter Holidays are just a few weeks a way! The colder weather is a reminder that winter is here so please ensure your child brings hats, mitts, boots, winter jacket and snow pants as we go out everyday!

November was a busy month and we are we are beginning December the same way!

In Literacy we are continuing our media unit we are looking at how ads are put together and we will begin creating our own shortly too!
In Math, we are reviewing key concepts learned over the past few months. Students are in their own independent work groups for the month.
In Science, we are working on our end of unit project for our Habitat unit. Information was sent home this week with each student on the expectations and marking rubric.
In Health, we will begin talking about smoking and its effect on our bodies.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at the school. I hope you all enjoy a restful and relaxing break!
